Just Do it

John 2:5
His mother saith unto the servants, Whatever, he saith unto you, do it.

Nike has a saying, "Just do it". I think they might have borrowed their catch phrase from Mary the mother of Jesus. Obeying God sometimes  is the hardest thing to do as a believer.  Sometimes in our lives we made wrong moves, wrong decisions based  on the mere fact  that we just did not do what God has told us to do. Just do it. Obedience is better than sacrifice. If you and I obeyed God in every  situation we would always come out on top. God might not give us all of what we want but he will make sure he gives us all of what  we need..

Mary in our text is speaking to the servants. This was the beginning of Jesus' many miracles. To be exact this was the first miracle that Jesus  performs. Jesus turns water into wine after they had run out at a wedding. There are so many good nuggets  in this text but I pitched my tent on what Mary echoes, "Whatever he says, do it. What we need to recognize in the text, Mary speaks to obedience.

The only point I am trying to make today is obey God. It might not always feel good but it is always the right thing to do. When you obey God it makes life so much easier. There is always going to be a struggle in doing  what we want verses what God wants us to do. It so easy for us to operate in the flesh rather than to yield to the spirit.  Scripture teaches us that if we acknowledge Him. He will direct our paths. Give yourself over to all always listening to God you will find out that every aspect of your life will always be better.

I Will Bless The Lord

Psalms 34:1

I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.

Praise the Lord!! Praise the Lord! There should never be a time in your life that giving God praise stops. The praises of our God should be always on our lips and in our hearts. After all, God has done so much for you, just the simple fact, you are reading this is, it is a good place to bless/ praise the Lord. Never get to the place in your life when you stop giving the Lord praise for all he has done for you.

The writer here is Psalms 34: 1 reminds us that our praise should be continually in our mouth. Praise should  never stop. The interesting thing about this verse, the writer reminds us it should be done at all times. Yes, we are to give him praise in the good times and in the bad times. Scripture  teaches us that we ought to give thanks for this is the will of God concerning us. God inhabits the praises of his people. God gets excited when we bless/praise him for what he has done for us. Thank you is always in order when it comes to our God.

Remember to give God praise for everything. Keep the praises of our God in your mouth. As the saying goes, " When praises go up, blessings come down. Praise the Lord!!! Praise the Lord!!!

You Can Make It Happen

Joshua 1:8

This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth, bit thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to so according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

You can make happen  in your life. The decision  is clearly up to you whether or not you are going to live a life that looks like success or that is successful. Make up in your mind that fatigue nor failure is an option in this season of your life. In other words there is no time to get tired nor is it a time to lose. I want you to know that success can happen. We are in the 4th quarter of the year and it is time to finish STRONG.

Here in the book of Joshua there is a systematic structure that God has given us to insure that we are successful. The first thing you and I must do is keep  the Word of God in our mouth. Speak the Word of God over every situation in our life. Scripture teaches that death and life is in the power of the tongue. Secondly we must meditate on the Word of God day and night that it brings awareness to what the Word of God teaches us. When we spend time with God in His Word,  we need to make sure that we are meditating on it. My grandfather use to say, "Chew the whole loaf". Chewing  represents meditating as you chew the Word (read it) you absorb it into your inner man (spirit). Keep  pondering on the Word of God.

As a result  of keeping the Word of God  in your mouth, meditating on and observing what the  Word  of God is saying or telling  us to do, we make our way prosperous and ultimately have good success. You make it happen.  Faith without works is dead. You make it happen.  God wants us to get up and do something.

The formula  for success is not hard but simple. Are you willing  to take the necessary steps to make sure that you are successful  in everything  that you do. God wants the best for your life. Embrace the process and with faith watch success  happen in your life.

Contend for the FAITH

Jude 1:3
Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that you earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

Go and get your fire back. Why is it that as a believer, a person that is effectively engaged in the things of God that you just lost the DESIRE. What happened? Who did it? What is the explanation for it? What has God done different in your life? You do know Christ is the same today, yesterday  and for evermore. God wants the best for your life. Is it safe to to say that you want the best for your life as well. If you lost your FIRE or desire you have got to get it back. This is not the season  that you give up. With all of the horrific things going on in the world  you and I must do what Jude has told us and that is CONTENT  for the faith. In other words Jude is saying fight for it. Jude is saying push through whatever it is that is stopping  you from getting preordained promise. In the text emphasis is placed on SALVATION, you have to fight for it.

The scripture teaches us that Paul  pleaded that that we forget those things which are behind and PRESS towards  the prize of the high calling which is in Christ Jesus. Anything  that is worth having is worth contending for. Realize that if God bought you to it, God had has the power to bring you through  it. It starts with a made up mind that you will contend for the faith. What do you believe?

If you change the way you do things, you change the results. Contend for it , in other words fight for it. Stop blaming  people,  places and circumstances and focus on what God had called you to be. In you is the greater one (Christ) let him work for and with you. Contend for the faith. Losing is not an option.

It is Possible

Philippians 4:13

I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me.

It really is possible. Alot of times because you and I have faced many obstacles while pursuing what it is that we desire to accomplish, we lose sight on who really is in charge of our outcomes. The writer is Psalms say if we acknowledge him (Christ) he would direct  our paths. It really is possible.  We have to not look at our struggle in our pursuit but we must look through the eyes of faith. Faith is the substance of things hope for the evidence of things not seen. When our faith lines up with what God has said about our life change begins to take place. Whatever we are faced with, whatever we are going through, the possibility of accomplishment is increased  simply because we trust God and we use faith.
Paul here is writing to the Philippian church. Paul is reminding them that they can do all things through Christ, and he will give them the strength  to do it. In this season of your life manage your faith so that what is possible will happen. Don't  limit yourself  to one or two things as it relates to what you  want to accomplish. By using faith God gives  strength to accomplish it all. Yes, it truly is possible.  Trust God, trust the process and hold on to your faith. All things are possible if it happens  by faith.

Time to be a True Worshipper

John 4:24
God is a spirit. And they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

If there ever was a time that we need to worship the Father it is now. With everything going on this world we need God more than ever before. We must spend time with God but there is a a requirement. God wants us to worship him in spirit and in truth. God wants you and I to be intimate with him and free to tell him exactly what is in our hearts and what is on our mind. Praise invokes the presence of God while worship expresses who God is. I praise God with my actions and with my mouth for what he has done for me. When I worship God I recognize who he is. I recognize His name. He is Lord Jehovah. When I worship God, he is involved, he gives the directives in the most intimate way. In truth I recognize what God is to me. In truth I recognize what God means to me. In truth it does not matter what I am faced with what I am going through or what I am dealing with God is still Lord. God wants all of us not just a part. If we are going to experience the best life it will happen through worship. Our life ultimately resembles our worship. Take time everyday and worship the Father. Getting  in the face of God insures his presence. I would not want to do anything in life with out the presence of God. Scripture teaches us in all of our ways acknowledge him and he will direct our paths. Be a true worshipper and God will be the difference maker in your life.

The Power of Words

Joshua 1:8
This book shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then though shalt have good success.

Proverbs 18:21
Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit therof.

Tools to live by when speaking:
1. Words mold and shape are life.
2. What you say you ultimately will be or it will be.
3. Once words leave your mouth, they are picked up by two forces. The Kingdom of the World (demons). The Kingdom of God (angels)
4. Positive speaking will bring positive results
5. Negative speaking will bring negative results
6. Be careful of what you say, it originated from your heart
7. Be slow to speak
8. Positive speaking attracts positive people
9. Negative speaking attracts negative people
10. Speak only good things

It is important that you remember what you speak out of your mouth matters.
