The Spirit of Manipulation ( Morning Glory - Instructional Wednesday )

03/02/2016

Today on Morning Glory it was Instructional Wednesday.  Our message today was "The Spirit of Manipulation". Our scripture today was Psalms 5:11-12.

11) But let all those that put their trust in Thee rejoice :let them ever shout for joy, because Thou defendest them:let them also that love Thy name be joyful in Thee.

12) For Thou, Lord, wilt bless the righteous; with favor wilt Thou compass him as with a shield.

Today on Morning Glory it was Instructional Wednesday and boy was it a great move of God. Our call today was a continuation from yesterday's call, which was Relationship Tuesday.  Our message on yesterday was" Grace In My Relationship". We all need the grace of God in our relationships. It is through God's grace that you and I will mature in our relationships.

As you know over the past few sessions we have been dealing with the Grace of God. Grace is the finished work of Christ. I need the grace of God to manifest a relationship that blossoms in His sight. Grace is the free and unmerited favor of God as manifested in the salvation of sinners and the bestowal of blessings. God wants to shower us with His grace in our relationships (inclusive ). We must remain yielded to Him so that when He speaks we not only listen but we obey.

As a for mentioned our inspiration was part two from yesterday.  The power of God was so awesome on the line on yesterday.  A call that should have only lasted 30 minutes ended up being an hour long. All the glory belongs to God.

Being yielded to the Holy Spirit, the call shifted. The Holy Spirit started giving us nuggets to identify some of the things that causes problems in our relationships. As we neared the end of the call the  Holy Spirit said, " Be careful of the Spirit of Manipulation". There is good  manipulation and bad. I know that does not sound good in it's presentation but there are times when you and I have been convinced  to do the right thing even if it benefits someone else.

Manipulation or the act to manipulate is to manage or influence skillfully, especially in an unfair manner. Manipulation to adapt, to change to suit one's purpose or advantage.  Manipulation always starts in the heart, then it goes to the mind, then the mouth speaks. Out of the heart flows the issues of life then the mouth shall speak. Manipulation is a selfish spirit.  The antidote to combat manipulation is the Spirit of Discernment.  We need to ask God if we don't know, if someone is trying to influence skillfully in an unfair manner or if they are trying to get you to adapt or change to suit one's purpose or advantage. Scripture teaches us that in all of our ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths. Don't allow yourself to get overwhelmed by the pressure of words from people. Take the time to ask the Holy Spirit  to lead and guide you. If you are going to have a relationship that is manipulation free it will take the Holy Spirit to show you.

Here are some helpful instructions :

1. The antidote for manipulation is the Spirit of Discernment.

2. Reduce argumentative conversation,  it always leads to manipulation by one or both parties.

3. All battles are not needed to win, choose your battles carefully,  it can lead to manipulation.

4. Study to be quiet, a soft answer kills wrath.

5. Manipulation always leads to selfish behavior

6. Give the Holy Spirit access to all ideas and concerns, He wants to lead and guide you

7. Real love always displays self-less acts of kindness, which eliminates manipulation

8. The grace of God will cover you when you cannot cover yourself.

9. Spirituality must increase,  while the things of the flesh decrease

10. Don't get fooled by charismatic conversation

11. Jesus Christ died for us so that we would not fall into the snares of the devil

12. Grow in grace, you grow in God

Hoping it blessed you!!
