Him Only Will I Serve

Joshua 24:14-15,16

14. Now therefore fear the Lord, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; serve ye the Lord.

15. And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom you will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the America's, in whose land you dwell: but as for me and my house we will serve the Lord.

16. And the people answered and said, God forbid that we should forsake  the Lord, to serve other gods.

What or who are you spending most of your time with. Who do you have your loyalty to? Who do you make a priority to give attention  to. Who are you serving. If the answer to those questions is not Christ then you need to re evaluate your priorities  as it relates to leadership or Lord in your life.

Our God is a jealous God. He let's  us know that we should not have any other God before him. Our day, our time, the things that we are doing should always be surrounded by the presence of God. Our lives need to be fully surrendered to him and him alone. How could you or I serve any other God. Joshua and the children of Isreal put it best, it would be a travesty if we deserted  the Lord. After all of what God has done for us, we have got to serve him, along with everyone in our house. 

Joshua wanted the children of Israel to decide if they  were going to serve these little gods verses the only God, Lord Jehovah.  Who are you serving  today. Make sure that you are putting  God  first in everything that you are doing. Make sure that the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords who is Jesus is in charge of your life. Being a willing  vessel at his disposal to do use you  for his glory. Him only will serve is a montra you and I must have. Great is the faithfulness of our God. Obey God. Trust God. In him only will you and I serve. The choice  is yours.
